Maldives Journalists Association (MJA) strongly condemns attacking Dhitv presenter Mohamed Ameeth yesterday, by the protesters of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Dhitv reported he was attacked while driving near Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) building. According to Dhitv, protesters blocked his way, and knocked him down to the ground.

We call on the authorities to investigate this case without any delay.

We have been receiving many reports of intimidation faced to journalists while making coverage of MDP protests.
